Abstract:

Twice monthly phenological census based on qualitative assessment of focal individuals of 19 tree species on BCI. Leaf, flower and fruit status was scored on a qualitative 4-point scale by Sr. Bonifacio DeLeon throughout. 

The scale was:  0 for no activity, 1 for 1% to 33% of crown active, 2 for 34% to 66% of crown active, and 3 for more than 66% of the crown active. 

The 19 species were:  Brosimum alicastrum, Ceiba pentandra, Coussarea curvigemmia, Dipteryx panamensis, Faramea occidentalis, Ficus costaricana, Ficus dugandii, Ficus insipida, Ficus obtusifolia, Ficus popenoei, Ficus trigonata, Ficus yoponensis, Gustavia superba, Platypodium elegans, Symphonia globulifera, Tabebuia guayacan, Tabebuia rosea, Tetragastris panamensis, Trichilia tuberculata
