Abstract: Fresh and dry masses of fruit, diaspores, and seeds and seed-to-fruit ratios for all species encountered in ESP censuses from BCI, PNM and FTS.  This is an ongoing effort. 

Data are available for 227 species (June 2004).  Fruits are collected from five individuals whenever possible.  Five randomly chosen fruits and up to four randomly chosen seeds from each fruit are weighed for each individual. 

We also determine "capsule-to-fruit" ratios for species whose fruit have a "capsule" that is never consumed by arboreal vertebrates.  Examples of "capsules" include valves, pedicels, bracts, etc.
